Horses in the London Landscape: Statues, Reliefs and the Real Thing - a virtual tour

26 Jan 2021

Whilst one of the delights of moving around central London is the opportunity to see a real horse being exercised or doing a job we are often missing a whole herd of them cast in bronze or carved in stone.

On memorials, carrying important historic characters or even in mythical form they hide away and go unnoticed.

This virtual tour will whisk us across London to see what we walk past and hardly notice. What's the connection between a Pall Mall Club and the British Museum? Which army Generals held military funerals for their horses? And where are "Rebellion" and "Controlled Energy"? See buildings you've walked past in a new light and perhaps say thank you to some animals who were just as heroic as those who rode them.
