New Equestrian Access Officer for BHS Scotland

BHS Scotland has a new equestrian access officer – we are delighted to welcome Catriona Davies to the role to work with horse riders and carriage drivers and support our access representatives across Scotland.

Catriona has a strong background in access, having previously worked for ScotWays, so she is very familiar with the Land Reform Act, the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and Rights of Way. In recent years she has worked for a number of local charities on community based, grant funded, access and conservation projects, including building new, multi-user paths. Catriona isn’t a rider but she loves wildlife and the outdoors and does a lot of walking, including hillwalking. She also spends a lot of time growing vegetables in her garden in Perthshire!

Over the coming weeks and months Catriona will be taking over much of the access work from Helene. She is really looking forward to working with our members and volunteers to deal with the access issues you face and celebrate the great routes you all use.

If you have an access issue, or you need some advice about using your right of responsible access in Scotland, you can contact Catriona at catriona.davies@bhs.org.uk.
