Equality and Diversity Policy

At the BHS, we value, respect and embrace diversity and equality, enabling us to be inclusive and to engage with as many different groups of people as possible across all our stakeholders.

  • Last reviewed: 6th July 2022

The BHS aims to ensure that all individuals have equal opportunities to apply for jobs and to take part in equestrian activities irrespective of age, sex, gender identity, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, religion, social background or sexual orientation.

Here is a copy of our Equality and Diversity Policy which is supported by our codes of conduct. For example, the BHS’s recruitment and selection procedures are fair, transparent and meet the appropriate legal requirements. We have also signed up to the British Equestrian Federation’s Equal Opportunities and Equality Policy.

We ask that all those within the BHS’s direct control adopt, develop, take ownership of and implement our policy and any subsequent actions from the equality plan. Through education and awareness campaigns, our aim is to increase involvement of all groups from all backgrounds at all levels.

If you have any questions or need support in this area, please contact the BHS Equality Officer on 02476 840746 or at safeguarding@bhs.org.uk.
