Rusper and Newdigate Bridleways Association

We are a small, friendly group of people, not all horse riders, who are interested in maintaining the local bridleways. Typical problems are boggy tracks as we are situated on very heavy Wealden Clay, so we are campaigning for more all-weather surfaces. Our local council is very short of money, so help from them is difficult. However, they have trained a group of volunteers and provided us with a small toolkit to keep the vegetation back. We meet about every two months to share our issues and potential solutions. We are supported by our BHS Access Officers who usually attend meetings too. We usually hold a summer party and a few fundraising events throughout the year.
