Richard's story

BHS Fellow and four-time Olympic medallist, Richard Davison shares how a BHS Career Pathway has helped deepen his love for horses

  • Last reviewed: 12th October 2023

From someone’s first tentative steps into the world of horses to the moment they become a professional rider, we’re by the side of so many equestrians as they learn, develop and grow their career.

Since becoming a BHS Fellow in 1984, Richard Davison has had a succession of great achievements. Aside from his own competition programme, Richard’s advice and coaching skills continue to be sought by some of the world’s most successful riders.

Richard said: “What the BHS has done is provide me with a structure of learning and getting more information on how horses think, eat, sleep and perform.”

Be inspired by Richard’s journey with horses and how he has used his BHS fellowship to develop the next generation of equestrians.
