‘Come Back A Winner’ with transport survey

The Come Back a Winner campaign has returned for a second year to gather more equestrians’ views and experiences on transport safety – and your contribution could make you a winner.

To help increase understanding about people’s attitudes towards horsebox safety and maintenance, a short online survey is now available, which takes just a few minutes to complete. Your contribution could help reduce the risk of accident and injury in the future – and you could win a £50 British Horse Society bookshop voucher and an NFU Mutual saddlecloth.

A joint initiative between NFU Mutual, The British Horse Society (BHS), PRP Equine Rescue Services and SV Tech Ltd, the Come Back a Winner campaign was launched last year after an increase in accidents and breakdowns. Concerns were also held for a lack of awareness of the rules and regulations surrounding the use of horseboxes and trailers.

Every year, the organisations involved see countless incidents involving injuries sustained by horses while travelling in or being loaded into horseboxes or trailers. Sadly, every year, fatalities involving horses being transported in poorly-maintained vehicles or as a result of an accident are an all too common occurrence.

By completing the survey, you can help ensure your voice and experiences are heard, and help improve safety for horses in transit.
