On Sunday 20 March Telford Horse Riding and Access ran another of its hugely successful guided rides, this time from the Granville site near Donnington. A record number of riders joined in to celebrate the opening up of lots of new bridleways in the Cockshutt, a beautiful green space in the centre of Telford.
Ride leader, Anthony Francis-Jones commented, “It is always a pleasure to show riders just how much green space there is in Telford, an area that is normally known for its urban nature. We are extremely grateful to Telford and Wrekin Council for providing these new routes and they fully deserved to receive a British Horse Society Award for all they have done to open up new routes. To have 31 riders come to try the new routes shows just how important and valued this work is. With high visibility clothing supplied by RAF Shawbury, another award winner, we made quite a sight!”
The next ride on Easter Sunday is in an around Town Park, an area that has also been greatly improved by the council and will be an Easter egg hunt for younger riders.
