Caldecote Riding School proprietor Sandy Sandon, her pupils and Pony Club members braved the torrential rain to put on some very impressive displays on Bank Holiday Monday 26 May.
The riding school's ponies were put through their paces and behaved beautifully; a credit to their riders who had them all turned out impeccably. There was a variety of stalls selling a dizzying array of items, and many delicious cakes and cookies – supplied by several of the young riders – were consumed with gusto by those who came to support the day.
So far Sandy has managed to raise in excess of £600 from the raffle, which will be donated to the BHS Equine Grass Sickness Fund, and as yet the final total is still increasing.
It was a great shame that the weather was so wet, as this meant that attendance was lower than usual, but nothing could dampen spirits on the day.
Well done and many thanks for the considerable effort that goes into the organisation and hosting of such a worthwhile event.
