Thanks to all who made the trip to Weddington Social Club on 20 November for BHS Warwickshire's latest event – an account of the War Horse Ride, held to recreate and commemorate the British Cavalry's retreat through France in August 1914.
We are particularly grateful to Sergeant Anthony Bysouth (Royal Logistic Corps) and equine vet Sally Hodgson (Hook Norton Vets) for their historical and interesting talk, and would also like to thank Mark, Andrew and Sally from the Free Spirit Horse Memorial Appeal for selling food and supporting us, and Adam Walker for running the British Horse Society stall.
On the night £145 was raised for each of the three charities we supported:
Event organiser Sandy Sandon commented, "Those that came really enjoyed themselves and found the evening very interesting, but I was disappointed with the turn-out. In spite of this we raised an amazing £145 for each of the three charities and I would like to say thank-you to all who donated cakes, money and for the help I received on the evening".
