Great Dragon Ride North to South Wales on Horseback 2015In May 2015 Emma Douglas and Rose Revera rode from Talacre in North Wales to Sker Beach in South Wales, a total of 280 miles over two weeks, raising over £1,000 for charity.

The fundraising travellers followed the route of the Great Dragon Ride, a trans-Wales bridleway opened by actor Martin Clunes three years ago. Emma said it was a great new resource for Wales.

"The amount of work that The British Horse Society volunteers have put in to the Great Dragon Ride is immense," she said. "It's great to have it there, and it's good for remote communities."

Emma and Rose have already raised more than £1,000 for their chosen charities, while Shadow and Sky have raised £115 for The British Horse Society!

Great Dragon Ride North to South Wales on Horseback 2015They recently met with Heather Clatworthy and Jan Roche from the BHS to discuss the ride and outline any issues they had encountered on the bridleways. Emma and Rose were kindly presented with certificates commemorating their ride, BHS polo shirts and apples for the ponies.

A big thank you also goes to Heather and Jan for taking the time to meet and chat about this fantastic ride.
