A plea from Conwy Countryside Warden Lesley Lawson to riders using the Pwllycrochan Woods Local Nature Reserve.
Mr Lawson has been receiving reports of horse riding within the reserve beyond the agreed permissive route. Some residents are emailing him photos of horse droppings as evidence and asking why it can't be stopped.
There are four interpretation boards positioned at access points around the reserve showing the permissive route. It is difficult to look after woodland facing pressures from so many very different user groups each wanting to use it and enjoy their time in the reserve. There is an understanding that many horse riders in the area are aware already that the permissive route does not extend to the other paths within the woodland, but Mr Lawson has approched BHS North East Wales to ask that riders refamilarise themseleves with these routes to help clarify any uncertainty.
Any help to pass this information on to riders you think may be using the other paths would be much appreciated.
