On a sunny Sunday morning, 21 May 2017, 53 riders took part in the BHS/National Trust ride for BHS Ride Out UK month in Wales. BHS dedicates May to equestrian routes; raising awareness of off-road riding and applauding the fantastic efforts of the BHS volunteers, local authorities and organisations who protect and restore multi-user routes across the UK. All while raising money for the BHS Paths for Communities Fund to help us to do more in your local area!
The 10k route at Dolaucothi took riders through some of the most beautiful areas in Carmarthenshire, from the Cothi river valley with stunning views towards Llandeilo and the opportunity to see wildlife at its best from buzzards and red kites to the occasional red squirrel.
The Dolaucothi Gold Mines located within the National Trust Estate are the only known Roman gold mines in Britain and route skirted the mine on the return journey.
Thanks to all who took part and also the hard working BHS volunteers!
