Neighbourhood and town planning in the Test Valley area

18 Aug 2014

Are you up to speed on proposed planning developments in your local area? Do you know how they might affect the places you ride?

There are lots of changes going on in Hampshire at the moment, including the creation of designated Neighbourhood Areas in Ashley, Charlton, Test Valley and Romsey. You can find out more on the Test Valley Borough Council website.

The Test Valley Borough Council has also submitted a revised Local Plan (2011-2029) Development Plan Document to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. The Revised Local Plan sets out the Council's vision and strategy for the Borough until 2029, the proposed locations for development and policies which will be used in determining planning applications. This document will cover the whole borough except for that part within the New Forest National Park. You can view the revised Local Plan DPD online.

If you keep horses in these areas, it is worth checking the plans to see if there are any proposals that might affect your riding or carriage driving routes. If you have any concerns, you can contact your local BHS Access Officer for advice.
