BHS Buckinghamshire committee has several vacancies at present, and would welcome some fresh blood.
Could you help? There are various roles, some of which are outlined below:
County Access and Bridleways Officer (CABO)
If you are enthusiastic about keeping bridleways open, investigating new ones, and generally improving access for equestrian users in the county, this may be the job for you.
District Access and Bridleways Officer (DABO)
DABO’s look after small districts within the county. They provide each other with support, and have the CABO looking after them. This is a good role if you have an interest in access, but are perhaps worried about jumping in the deep end as a CABO straight away!
Currently Buckinghamshire has only one welfare officer, Helen Evans, covering the whole county, and we could do with some more help so that the county could be split into several smaller areas.
Are you good at organising? Are you keen to inspire people and help put on events for equestrians in Buckinghamshire? Then this role is for you! The current Training Officer is on a sabbatical, so some help is needed in this area, but there will be support from the rest of the committee until she returns.
District reps offer a first point of contact for people needing help or advice in their area. It’s a good way to offer our members a more local service and a warmer welcome.
Do you want to improve road safety? Are you passionate about Hi Viz? Dog attacks, cycling incidents, road safety and much more come under the remit of the safety officer. It’s a brand new role, so can really be made your own.
Whatever your interest and expertise, if you are keen to get involved and help the BHS in your county, please get in touch. Contact the regional Development Officer for the South, Hannah Marsh for more information.
