An informal consultation is taking place to seek the views of the public on how Crookham Common (East) in Berkshire should be managed in the future. Fencing the Common, which is one option, may have an impact on the accessibility of the Common for equestrians.
Issues stemming from the use of fencing, such the type of gates needed to preserve existing recreational access and where these structures should be sited, are critical and West Berkshire Council, the authority involved, are seeking views from the public. The closing date for this informal stage is 31 March 2013 and views can be submitted in several different ways.
These are explained, alongside more detail about the consultation, on the West Berkshire Council website which can be found here: www.westberks.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=25881
