Exciting day at the Grassroots Cross County Clinic

17 Apr 2016

Fortunately the weather was kind on the day after the awful stormy weather a few days before and it was very touch and go if it would run at all.  But it did and fourteen riders, mostly BHS members, had a wonderful day at Leyland Court taking part in a Grassroots Cross Country Clinic with Linda DeMatteo, BHSI Registered Instructor and BE Level 3 Coach.

Linda was very encouraging with the more nervous riders who really enjoyed their session and achieved more than they thought they would.  The more experience riders were taken to a new level and jumped some very scary looking fences. She also helped those wanting to start eventing with good advice and did a bit of tack re-adjustment before they started the jumping.

Everyone left feeling very pleased with themselves for what they had achieved and this made it a great success and judging by the smiles on their faces they really enjoyed it.

Thanks must go to Kim Lock of the Avon Committee for organising the event which was funded partly by BHS Avon and BHS South West region.
