On 29 June, The British Horse Society Devon committee put on their third TREC day at the superb venue, Coxleigh Barton, A BHS Approved Equestrian Centre just outside Barnstaple.
The event was very well supported, with seven riders in the 'Starters' training plus five people who did the classroom map reading only and six riders in the 'Improvers' training, followed by eighteen riders in the competition section.
Everyone got an opportunity to ride various different obstacles and were given help on how best to approach them and gain good scores.
Huge thanks to our trainers, Julie Brand, Kevin Found and Gina King and our small army of volunteers and helpers who really made this day such a huge success.
It was a very busy day, thoroughly enjoyed by all, from complete beginners through to some very experienced 'Treccies'.
All the training was very well received. Having provided an informative, interesting, but above all, fun introduction to TREC we are confident that there will be a few more educated TREC riders out there in North Devon and we wouldn't be surprised if we see some of them at the BHS TREC Championships in August!
Congratulations to all of the competitors and especially the class winners:
