A talented group of up-and-coming horse riders from Pippin Equestrian, Gillingham will be representing Dorset in The British Horse Society National Riding Schools’ Championships at Warwickshire College, Moreton Morrell next Wednesday (3 April).

The unique competition, run by The British Horse Society, aims to encourage non-horse owners to ride and compete. Regional qualifiers are held at British Horse Society Approved Riding Centres across the UK with the top riders from each age group progressing forward to contest the national Championships.
Seven riders from Pippin Equestrian will be travelling to Warwickshire for the Finals. They are as follows:

13 years and under
Sophia Lewin
Isla Thomas

17 years and under
Mollie Reilly Vickers
Felicity Steel

18 Years and Over
Leanne Greatrex
Alice Dymond-Andrews
Christine Benwell

The Championship, which comprises a dressage test, showjumping course and a set of equine related general knowledge questions has been available to young riders for a number of years, with many past winners going on to enjoy horse ownership or a career with horses. The adult class was added for the first time last year and has been especially well received.
