28 riders enjoyed an action packed fun weekend at Lindores Equestrian on the 20-22 September 2019 at BHS Scotland Camp. All riders enjoyed a flatwork lesson from Carole Broad FBHS, a polework/grid lesson from Sarah-Jayne Bowers, a working hunter lesson from Richard Johnston-Smith and a XC lesson from Diana Zajda. Camp kicked off with a trot up and assessment lessons took place after lunch on the Friday. Jane Cumberlidge presented a very interesting bitting demo after the assessment lessons prior to dinner. On the Saturday, between lessons all horses were weighed on the weigh bridge and received advice from Dodson & Horrell. During lunch, Hannah from Dodson & Horrell gave us all an insight into Dodson & Horrell and provided some feeding tips . Saturday evening saw the fin quiz night, which was won by the Wibbly Wobbly team consisting of Stephen MacGregor, Christine Stewart and June MacGeachy.
Camp came to a close on the Sunday afternoon after all lessons had finished, where all riders received a rosette and a goody bag. A selection of trophies were also presented as follows:
Most improved horse and rider: Wendy Strachan
Best Helper: Karen Gilmore
Best Condition Horse or Pony: Giddy, owned by Katie Nisbet
Favourite Horse or Pony: William owned by Irene McKelvey.
Thanks to everybody for coming to camp and to Anna at Lindores Equestrian for making everybody so welcome – what a fun weekend had by all. Lots of great training and such beautiful weather and surroundings.
BHS Scotland Camp will return to Lindores next year on the 19-21 September so put the date in your diary.
