We are always looking for new ways to raise money and promote the BHS and the BHS Durham Committee certainly achieved this, breaking new ground recently with the decision to host a Cantonese Banquet.
This innovative idea, (the brainchild of Chair Danielle Quigley-Cutter and Committee Member Kellie Davidson), led to eighty members and friends converging on The Pavillion at Iveston in early July.
The event proved a huge success - and alongside a substantial raffle, succeeded in raising over one thousand pounds for the county coffers. What a result.
Our very grateful thanks must go to the generous supporters who donated an array of great prizes, including The Feed Warehouse in Browney Lane and Consett, Carrs Billington in Barnard Castle, Mole Valley at Piercebridge, Nicola Endersby and Durham Equine Practice, Sally Booth and Robson and Prescott Vets in Morpeth, Helen Frampton Physiotherapist, Photographer Simon Round, High Plains and Ivesley Equestrian Centres, Committee Member Sue Gamble and Danielle, Kellie, Wendy, Tracey Kibler and John Hill who donated lessons.
The feedback has been incredibly positive and this may just turn into an annual event as a result. Watch this space.
