Our commitment to castrating as many males in the horse population as possible continues. Several rigs (those with neither or only one testicle dropped), identified at the various sessions held in Cleveland throughout last autumn, were brought forward for subsidised surgery thanks to the highly successful fundraising efforts of the BHS Cleveland Committee.
Veterinary Surgeon Sally Booth and Vet Nurse Kate Lazenby from the Robson and Prescott Practice in Northumberland once again stepped into the breach, this time thanks also to the Clevedale Veterinary Practice at Upleatham who kindly gave up the surgery facilities and provided staff to assist. The day was a complete success and secures a brighter future for all of the horses concerned.
