All in a Good Cause

27 Oct 2015

The various Committees have been busy, running a number of entertaining and educational events which also serve to boost County funds. Rhys opening a gate

The efforts of BHS Cumbria Access and Bridleways Officers (turned Event Organisers), Helen Kerry and Gay Parkin were rewarded with a good turnout at the TREC Style event held at Rookin Activity Centre near Penrith in conjunction with Ellen Valley RC.

Riders tested their horsemanship skills over a variety of obstacles and enjoyed orienteering on horseback in a beautiful setting.

BHS Northumberland ran yet another excellent Dressage Show at Kirkley Hall despite some truly miserable weather conditions.

Events Officer, Fiona Gough has been the driving force behind a number of events across the County and the Committee have been hugely supportive.

BHS Cleveland held their Second Annual Show at Tunstall thanks to another sterling effort by Claire Robinson and the team. The classes were carefully programmed in order to separately accommodate both newcomers and more experienced combinations.

Competitors Emily Mann and Toddy; Lucy Austick and Maisy and Jen Wilson and EmEveryone thoroughly enjoyed the day – which incidentally, raised over £400 for our Welfare projects in the County.  Grateful thanks must go to judges Nicky Dare and Jill Horseman who provided lots of constructive feedback to help people improve on their results for next time.
