On a beautiful Saturday morning in September, 18 riders set off on a four hour ride through the woodland and moorland of Beacon Fell Country Park and the surrounding Lancashire countryside.
The ride raised £520 for the BHS Grass Sickness Fund Campaign: a campaign that ride organiser, Steph Davis, feels passionate about and fully supports.
Steph is the owner of the Braeden Trekking Centre and she kindly opened the Centre for the event. Steph and lots of helpers had marked out the route starting at the Centre and marshals waited at key junctions. There was a lovely gallop towards the end for those that wanted! It was a great day! BHS Lancashire would like to thank Steph and her helpers, and everyone that took part.
Along with the Equine Grass Sickness Fund and the Animal Health Trust, The British Horse Society is supporting an EGS vaccine trial was launched in March 2014. Our campaign is helping to provide valuable additional funding for the full three-year EGS vaccine trial project. If you wish to donate, you can on line through Just Giving
