Progress is being made on the new bridleways proposed for the Eastern Moors lying between Sheffield and Baslow, Curbar and Froggatt.
The first section on Big Moor (between Baslow and Owler Bar) is now open with a brand new bridleway gate, way-marking posts and crushed stone laid down where the going was wet or rutted. There is some more work (including mounting blocks) to be done in the late summer/autumn and before the end of this year we should see a connecting section of bridleway across Ramsley Moor opened up.
Next Spring (2014) should see a new bridleway opened along the top of Curbar and Froggatt Edges.
Pictured is Big Moor showing the new concessionary bridlepath and one of the new waymarking posts.
