Midsummer Ride at Elvaston Castle

20 June 2015

The annual midsummer ride held on 20th June was very well attended with 83 riders enjoying the fun. Jointly run by the British Horse Society and Erewash Riders Association, the ride was held at Elvaston Castle by kind permission of Derbyshire County Council.

Most of the credit should however go to Ann Wood who organised the whole event and even provided
the BBQ.

Rebecca Frisby Fancy Dress winnerThis year the ride included optional fancy dress and although the very changeable weather put many riders off dressing up, we had a very worthy winner Rebecca Frisby who was dressed as a summer fairy. The runner up was her mum Diane Frisby .

The two ladies won vouchers kindly donated by Risley Saddlery and an Indiepics photo from the official photographer.

All fancy dress competitors also got a voucher for a free entry to the next ride.

Thank you to everyone who supported us and especially the fabulous stewards.
