Site safety work has begun on the former high ropes area of Salcey Forest. The contractor started preparing the site in the week commencing 9 October 2017. To ensure a safe working area and public safety, the area around the former high ropes course including some of the trails and a section of the far car park will be closed for the duration of the works.
Route diversions have been in place since the 9 October for customers using the Elephant path, Church path, Woodpecker trail and the cycle and horse circular routes. The works area will not affect the café.
The only section of permissive horse route which will be closed for the duration of works is the small section parallel to the road and the former high ropes area. The public bridleway next to the former high ropes course will remain open with warning signs for riders that there may be loud noises and machinery working on site. The contractor will monitor the use of the bridleway when works are close to it and we ask that horse riders wait until they are signalled to continue on the trail by the operator.
Work dismantling the high ropes equipment is estimated to finish by 14 November 2017. Notices to warn customers of the disruption to the routes and diversions available will be put up around the Centre, main car park, horse boxing car park and around the forest on the main trail crossroads.
