Spring is on its way at last, and the BHS are working hard on arrangements for the forthcoming 70th anniversary of the Royal Windsor Horse Show, which runs from 8-12 May 2013.
Taking place in the stunning private grounds of Windsor Castle, the show is a spectacular event with a huge variety of equestrian sports and competitions. With over 200 shops to visit and a military zone to explore, there’s as much to do as there is to see!
The BHS is running a number of events during the show and are looking for volunteers to help us in the following areas:
- Catering – helping us provide our Members with refreshments and look after our marquee
- Schools Day – educating classes of children on equine welfare, safety and access, and explaining how some of the show’s events, such as the mathematical side of the Top Score Show Jumping Competition, and running a mini version for the children to take part in as part of the BHS Challenge. We are particularly looking for teachers or people who would be happy to help arrange the BHS Challenge in the afternoon.
We’re looking for enthusiastic people who are able to give up half a day (either morning or afternoon) to experience this incredible show with us.
In return for your volunteering, you’ll receive a day pass for the show to allow you to relax and enjoy all the events for the rest of the day you volunteer on. The days run from 8am-8pm with extra displays added for this year, so there are even more reasons to visit!
If you’d like to help us, please email Jeanette Poile at firstname.lastname@example.org stating which day(s) you would be available, and whether you have any preference for the type of work you would like to do.
We’re looking forward to meeting you!
