Contagious disease in horses can be devastating and have long lasting effects. This isn’t just because of the obvious and very significant risk to equine health.
Outbreaks can cause businesses to close, reputations to be unjustly damaged beyond repair and whole competition seasons to be lost.
This is why The British Horse Society is delighted to be working with SAC Consulting: Veterinary Services on our 2014 Welfare Conference: ‘Biosecurity – Protecting Horses and Businesses’.
Taking place in Bristol on 23 May, the conference will incorporate a range of presentations and practical sessions from internationally renowned speakers covering a range of topics relating to diseases and biosecurity. The day will focus on the range of diseases that threaten Britain’s horses and practical measures on how to protect your animals, including an introduction to the recently launched Premium Assured Strangles Scheme (PASS).
There is something for everyone, from the owner of a single horse to the manager of an enormous commercial yard – and everyone in between! Anyone with an interest in equine welfare will find something of interest.
The line-up of speakers includes Mark Tabachnik (XL Vets) and Wright & Morten Veterinary Surgeons (Members of XLEquine).
The conference is set to be a full day, with refreshments and lunch provided. Tickets are priced at just £10 and are available to purchase online or by calling 02476 840517.
