The British Horse Society is the largest equestrian charity with a passion for horses that is backed by knowledge and expertise. The BHS represents and provides a range of services for horse riders, horse owners, enthusiasts and professionals.
It is also the home of British Riding Clubs, the largest movement for amateur riders in the UK.
Working as part of the team, you will be assisting in the organisation of BRC and Championships, for example the processing of preliminary competition entries, attend the BRC Championships and manage the declaration of competitors at the start of the competition. In addition, you will deal general enquiries in relation to competitions.
Attendance at weekend championships throughout the term of engagement will be required; this involves occasional nights away from home.
The successful applicant will have experience and knowledge of equine competitions, be able to work under pressure and operate effectively as part of a team as well as individually, demonstrate exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills and be skilled in I.T. packages, such as Word and Excel. A strong customer service ethos is required along with a confident manner. The role would suit a graduate looking for experience in the industry.
