A Horses Welcome Establishment
Adjacent to the spectacular Ashdown Forest with some of the best riding in South East England, Adds Farm is an ideal location to holiday with your horse.
With good restaurants, grub-pubs, quaint tea rooms around and more. Adds Farm has everything for you and your horse to enjoy a fantastic riding holiday and a relaxing break in a friendly home from home environment and all within 40 minutes of the M25.
For the horses
Stabling is provided on a DIY basis in our newly built block of 6 ‘Scotts of Thrapston’ stables, all with automatic water drinkers. In an attractive block stained juniper green, the stables are light and airy with rubber kick boards on the walls. A deep shavings bed is provided.
Guests have use of their own secure tack and feed room adjacent to the stables. Rodent proof bins are provided for storage of your horse feed. There is plenty of good daily turnout available for your horse in the 13 acre of grazing in the paddocks surrounding the farm.
We have ample parking for horseboxes and trailers.
Bed and Breakfast accommodation is provided at Adds Farm – a beautiful and imaginative conversion of barns and farm buildings originally dating back to the 18th century. Our comfortable double and twin rooms all have en-suite/private bathrooms. We also have a large family room that can sleep 2, 3 or 4 people.
At Adds Farm, we pride ourselves on providing our guests with a heart gourmet breakfast to set them up for their days riding and can cater for all tastes.
After you ride, sit and relax in our secluded garden where a gentle stream trickles by or on our sunny patio, a lovely place to catch the evening sun and glorious sunsets across the fields and forests in the distance. Guests also have use of the comfortable drawing room with views over the fields and French doors opening onto the pretty rose courtyard and conservatory.
There are many beautiful rides to do across the 6,500 acres of forest and the colours of the forest constantly change with the seasons the year through. Ride across the fire breaks on the open heathland of gorse and heather, across streams at the bottom of valleys and take quiet tracks up through the pretty woodland areas. Ride to the spots made famous in AAA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh stories – the Enchanted Place, North Pole and Eeyor’s Gloomy Place as well as the many Clumps, the Airman’s Grave and Nutley Windmill. The choices are endless and we have maps of the forest available and are happy to help you plan your rides and routes to explore the forest.
We can provide forest permits and an optional guiding service is also available.
Adds Farm has a superb 60x30 metre rubber and equi-sand riding arena adjacent to the stable block. This is fitted out with a large set of dressage mirrors and a full set of showjumps are available for guests’ use during their stay. The arena is fully floodlit so can be used at any time.
For those who would like to combine riding in the forest with some training, we have many excellent local riding instructors who can be booked to come out to Adds Farm for private or group tuition (flat work or jumping) during your stay.
We can also tailor a bespoke residential training course to fit your individual requirements.
