This course is to help those working towards BHS Stage 3 and is mainly aimed at assessment candidates or students, but is open to all. Please note that a certain level of knowledge, fitness and riding ability is required. To attain this level, riders will need to be able to ride a dressage test at Novice level and jump a 1 metre show jump track and be comfortable riding a 90cms Cross-Country course over banks and ditches.
Please note that it is unrealistic to expect to attain this level just riding once a week, unless you have had some experience riding at a competitive level.
An outside BHS Assessor will be brought in from time to time during this course.
This will include riding school figures & movements including leg yield, rein back, turn on the forehand & lengthened strides. Work in all gaits without stirrups to improve position and depth of seat will be a priority. We recommend that riders book a few additional lunge lessons and /or some postural analysis sessions on ‘Trojan’, our Dressage Simulator to get maximum benefit from this course.
