BHS Warwickshire Coach Trip to The Museum of the Horse

30 Oct 2016

Online booking for this event is now closed, but if you'd like to attend then please call the organiser Audra Morgan on 07855 213372

Join us on Sunday 30 October for a visit to the Museum of the Horse in the historic market town of Tuxford, Nottinghamshire, for a walk through over 2,000 years of horse history.

The museum is housed in the former Newcastle Arms, an 18th-century coaching inn. Collections include antique saddlery, bits, racing memorabilia, clothing and veterinary equipment. For driving enthusiasts, at the time of our visit there's a special exhibition on the history of coaching.

Time: The trip will depart from BHS HQ (Abbey Park, Stareton, Kenilworth CV8 2XZ) at 9am, arriving in Tuxford at around 10.30am.

There's time for a cup of tea or coffee, then a guided tour from the museum's curator Sally Mitchell, and personal browsing time in the museum and in Sally's adjoining art gallery where prints and cards can be viewed alongside original paintings. Sally specialises in countryside, canine, equestrian and wildlife art.

A light lunch can be purchased at the coffee shop, then we'll board the bus again at 2.30pm, arriving back at BHS HQ around 4pm.

Cost: £16 per person.

This event is open both to members of the British Horse Society, and non members.

Please note that car parking at BHS HQ is at the owner's risk and the BHS will not take any responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles or their contents whilst parked there.
