For those that love horses and love teaching, there is no better career than being a BHS Instructor. To give yourself the best chance of passing the BHS Instructor Exam, make sure the centre you ride and teach at is approved, and your own Instructor is qualified.
This rigorous exam comprises three sections - the Stable Manager's exam, the Senior Equitation exam and the Coaching exam. It doesn't matter which order you take them in but you must pass them all to become fully qualified.
The exam process isn't something you can train specifically for; you really have to be involved in the industry and already be doing all the things the exams will ask of you. Once you've passed you'll be qualified to teach to the level of advanced medium dressage, intermediate horse trials and Fox Hunter level showjumping.
The training will take place over two days. The Riding element of the training will be covered on the first day and the Coaching element will be covered the following day.
Time: 9.30am until 4.00pm.
Cost: £135 per day for the Riding element / £115 per day for the Coaching element with Tea and Coffee included.
Extra days/half days can be arranged for a minimum of 4 delegates. Private tuition can be arranged for any aspect of either examination. Please visit the Ingestre Website for price lists.
