BHS TREC lecture demo

The purpose of this event is to provide an overview and demonstration of what BHS TREC entails at Level 1 (beginner), and to encourage newcomers to the competition. BHS TREC is a great sport for the 'everyday rider', and can be done with any type of horse or pony.

Provisional Timetable

10.00 – 12.00    Classroom session to outline the requirements of the three stages of a TREC competition: COP (control of paces), PTV (obstacle course) and POR (mounted orienteering)

12.00 -12.15      Refreshment break

12.15 – 13.30    Mounted demonstration of COP and PTV phases

13.30 – 14.00    Dismounted practice of orienteering skills, in small groups - please bring a compass if you would like to have some map reading practice

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring a packed lunch. The event is open to all - Riding Club and BHS members £2.00, all others £5.00.
