The BHS South region is running two camps again this year at Boomerang Stables, on:
Three days of lessons and laughs, flatwork and food, cross-country, camping and showjumping. Best described by one regular visitor as "Pony Club camp without the compulsory tack cleaning!"
The camps are open to BHS Members and are open to riders of all levels, who will be grouped accordingly for ridden sessions. The camp is geared around having fun with our horses, building our confidence and improving our skills.
We will help you do just that, by using coaches who are passionate about helping riders and know how to inspire confidence. They are not just fantastic coaches, they are, above all, friendly and great fun! Our chief instructor, helping to organise the camp, is Charlie Samuel-Camps, a freelance BHSII who holds a BSc in Equine Sports Science. Charlie has competed successfully at affiliated dressage, showjumping and eventing with a number of horses over the years, and is passionate about helping other riders achieve their goals, whatever those might be. She loves teaching and she loves her pupils to enjoy their lessons too. As well as riding, there will be plenty of time to talk all things horse and to pick our coach’s brains over coffee or supper and, if possible, we’ll also have a visit from a guest speaker one evening too.
The cost is £250 per rider, to include stabling and bedding, use of all facilities, instruction and refreshments. Those attending both camps will receive a £50 discount off the August camp.
What’s not included? Meals for you or your horse. Looking after your horse (!) - there will always be someone to help if you are stuck with something, but basic care is DIY.
