An Introduction to the BHS

What is the BHS?  What does the BHS do?  Are there any benefits to doing BHS qualifications and how do I start them?  What are the benefits to becoming a member?

The BHS has teamed up with SMS equestrian to provide a fun filled educational day all about the BHS, the benefits and what is involved in the first exam, the BHS Stage One.

The day will be run by two BHS registered instructors, Sarah Mitchell-Sheppard and Shona Crawford.  Both instructors have experience in running BHS Approved centres, training and taking exams along with affiliated competition experience.

The day will include a group riding lesson, theory and practical lectures.  Ther is limited space and only a maximum of eight people on the day in two groups of four so please book early to avoid disappoirntment.

Tea and coffee will be provided.  SMS can lend you a hat for the day but please bring your own lunch, pracical clothing, footwear and a waterproof jacket.

Time:  10am - 4pm

Cost: £50 per person
