Healthy Horse, Healthy Pastures Workshop presented by Jane Myers MSc. Jane and Stuart myers were awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to study environmentally sustainable horse keeping practices in Australia. As a result of this and in conjunction with Landcare they developed the Equicentral method.
This afternoon workshop is aimed a professionals who manage land for horses and will demonstrate how they can potentially improve the sward and catchment land management and thereby horse health.
The workshop will run from 2pm - 4.30pm and will cover:-
Application of the Equicentral method.
Review of progress to date for the AONB policy LM1a.
The need for further support and information for horse owners and businesses.
Recommend further action for the catchment initiatives, AONB and for Local Authority planning guidance.
This will be followed in the evening by a talk for the wider equestrian community and horse owners at 7pm.
