Join BHS affiliated riding club, Gareloch Riding Club, for an overnight hack in aid of Ride Out UK Month.
Starting at 8pm on 28 May, riders will be riding from old Kilpatrick to Milton in West Dunbartonshire and camp overnight. There is limited availability for horse camping but plenty of room for foot followers – bring your own tent and breakfast or money for nearby eateries - pub, restaurant and a coffee shop are all within walking distance.
Should riders want to return to the start point that evening they can under their own steam or make their own arrangements for a pick up at Milton end of ride.
On 29 May riders will return from Milton to Old Kilpatrick in West Bunbartonshire, setting off around 11am.
You can join either or both parts of the journey, or simply come along for the camping.
£10 minimum donation per person if riding and £15 if riding and camping per person, £5 per person if just camping and we would like as much sponsorship as possible.
The ride is along a cycle/multi user track so a smooth mostly tarmac path suitable for barefoot horses with parts of it next to the Forth and Clyde canal and the river Clyde. There are three road crossings but ponies must be good with trains as we are next to a railway line and of cycles due to us being on a busy multi user pathway. It is unlikely we will meet a barge or a canoe on the water but this is something to be mindful of if you are bringing a pony.
Ride Out UK Month is dedicated to getting people riding off-road and highlighting our equestrian routes and the work committed to keeping these routes open. Money raised will go to the BHS Paths For Communities Fund, money used to restore and extend multi-user routes.
