Horsepower Day at The Kelpies

9 Sept 2017 10:00 - 16:00

Horsepower is an imaginative celebration of Scotland’s equine heritage taking place on 9 September at The Helix Park in Falkirk. The event, set to take place against the backdrop of Andy Scott’s magnificent Kelpies, will mark Scotland’s relationship and reliance on the horse.

Horsepower star attractions, two stunt shows from les Amis Stunt Team featuring stunt riders from the Outlander TV series 2 and 3, will bring history to life through impressive jousting techniques.

A performance by the UZ art, a local art company, will subvert the public with its performance inspired by the monumental Kelpies and the legendary and beloved Falkirk horse Carnera. 'Spirit Unbroken' brings together a horse spirit, a unicorn, an interactive realm in which horses rule humans and a remarkable dance between a French horse La bête noire and its human partner.

The event programme will count many other family friendly activities transporting the public through history such as the Dig It! museum container displaying a photo booth time machine, horse related artefacts and live exterior graffiti artwork.

In addition to these activities, 30 horses from all over Scotland including rare Scottish horse breeds will be attending Horsepower and deliver live demonstrations of horse logging, barge pulling along the canal, harrowing and many more.

Horsepower will offer the perfect day out for all horse lovers as well as the entire family! This is a free event.
