For anyone too young to remember, Colonel George Rouse, who used to farm at Little Quoy, was one of 4 founders of the Orkney Branch of the Pony Club. He was passionate about his ponies and riding them. His aim was that any child who shared his love of them, should have the chance to learn to ride and care for a pony and to that end, he will be remembered by many for his enthusiasm, encouragement and generosity. He would doubtless see very many changes in the Riding Scene were he to be around today, but we are sure he would be thrilled to see many of you enjoying and having fun at this event at Little Quoy.
The Sponsors of this event are particularly keen to support McMillan Cancer Care in Orkney and must be thanked for their generosity in supplying everything for the event from the fantastic venue, to the Cups, Rosettes – beautifully made by Orkney Rosettes – and of course, the course! Including the trees which will dress it.
This is a fantastic opportunity to ride and jump on Grass so we look forward to receiving your entries. Please encourage anyone you know to come along and enjoy a great day.
