BHS Cumbria Have a go at TREC

Classes:

1. Horses under 158cm (15.2hh) TREC. Separate section for Juniors under 16 on the day of the event

2. Horses 158cm (15.2hh) and over TREC.  Separate section for Juniors under 16 on the day of the event

3. Control of Paces and Obstacles only

4. Orienteering ride only

Entry Fees: Classes 1 and 2  £10 (BHS/EVRC members) £12 (non- members)

Classes 3 and 4  £6 (BHS/EVRC members)  £7 (non-members)

If time permits, additional attempts at the obstacle and or control of paces may be available at £3 per go.

Rules as per the current TREC Rulebook, and general rules detailed below and elsewhere in this schedule. 

No rider will be permitted to start any phase of the competition unless wearing a hard hat, which meets standard currently recommended by the BHS.

Riders may choose to wear a body protector during any phase of the competition. Iworn, Beta 3 standard is strongly recommended.
Riders must wear suitable riding footwear.

Start times for each phase will be available on the BHS Cumbria and Ellen Valley Riding Club website and Facebook page by 10 October.

Health and Safety:

The event manager/organiser has taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the officials and stewards on the day. Trained First Aiders will be present at the event and should be summoned through an official in the event of an accident. Neither the event manager/organiser nor BHS Cumbria  nor Ellen Valley Riding Club can accept responsibility for loss or injury to persons or animals howsoever caused.

Non-members of The British Horse Society and/or Ellen Valley Riding Club are advised to ensure that they have third party and public liability insurance cover before taking part in this event.

Riders under 16 years of age must be accompanied on the Orienteering phase by a person over 18 years of age.  This may be another rider or someone on foot or bicycle.

Riders will do the Orienteering phase in small groups.  Please indicate on your entry form if you are planning to ride with someone otherwise you will be paired up with another rider.
