Do book the date into your diary for this special event in the equestrian year. On Sunday 18 September a “Festival of the Horse” will be held at Lytham Hall, Lytham St Annes, a most prestigious venue, from 1pm until 3pm. The Festival will include the 21st Horseman’s Sunday Service with the traditional Blessing of each individual horse and a short address by the Bishop of Burnley. Freckleton Brass Band will play appropriate music and accompany the singing. Also included in the afternoon is the competition for the best turned out horse, the winner receiving the silver Stirrup Cup.
All breeds of horses are welcome whether ridden, driven, shown or in hand. Human supporters are also very welcome! Entry is free and a rosette will be given to each participant by the Mayor of Fylde.
It is important that you do let the organisers know if you are intending to be present as space is limited, and logistics will be key to the success of the day. If you required further information do contact:
