Advances in surgical technique have reduced the need for general anaesthesia and also the risk to the horse during surgery. Dr Tom Witte, Senior Lecturer in Equine Surgery in the Equine Referral Hospital, will talk about the advances in technology which allow complex procedures to be performed in the standing horse such as keyhole surgery of the sinuses of the head, the abdomen and chest.
