BHS Northamptonshire invite you to an evening with the focus on safety and what to do in an emergency. Northamptonshire Fire Service Large Animal Rescue team have kindly offered will talk about what to do if you find yourself in an emergency situation with your horse - how to react, how to stay safe and the professional help available. They will then go on to give a large animal rescue demonstration using specially designed equipment.
In addition BHS Director of Safety, Alan Hiscox will give an update on the BHS Safety Campaigns, including the BHS Dead or Dead Slow Campaign which was launched in 2016 in a bid to educate drivers to slow to 15 mph when meeting and passing horses on the road. He will be pleased to answer your questions on all aspects of safety and we will have free information for you to take away.The BHS in Northamptonshire is always keen to welcome new volunteers so if you would like to be more involved in what the BHS does in the county do come a talk to us about volunteering opportunities with the BHS. There will be light refreshments available.

All courses are checked for viability approximately 10 working days prior to course date. At this point, any course that has insufficient numbers may be cancelled. In this instance, candidates booked on the cancelled course will receive a full refund.
Course fees are non-refundable if cancelled by candidates within 10 working days of the course date without a medical certificate, which must be received within five working days of the course date. All cancellations MUST be in writing by post or email.
If a course should be cancelled, each candidate will be telephoned and offered either a full refund or free transfer. It is the responsibility of each candidate to ensure that they provide correct, up to date contact details, which must include a telephone number with an answering service. If messages are left for candidates regarding a course cancellation, or if the organiser are unable to leave a message and candidates then arrive at a venue for a course that has been cancelled, any expenses incurred by the candidate are wholly their own.
In the event of adverse weather conditions, a decision will be made the day before a course is due to start as to whether or not it will be cancelled. If it should be cancelled then each candidate will be telephoned.
Photographs will be taken on the day and may be used for promotional purposes, please contact the event manager prior to the event if you are not willing for any images you appear in to be used for this purpose.
