Biomechanics Conference with Russell Guire and Jo Winfield FBHS

11 Sept 2017 09:30 - 16:00

BHS East Midlands and BHS Yorkshire have joined forces to present a Biomechanics Conference.

Until horses learn to talk, we'll never fully understand what they are thinking, feeling and how the way we ride and equipment we use can affect them. However, through the application of science and the continuous training and development of instructors and riders, we can improve the way in which we ride and care for our horses and ultimately improve the overall welfare of the horse.

At this exciting event, we will be joined by Russell Guire of Centaur Biomechanics who use science to improve both the rider's position and horse's performance. Centaur Biomechanics' services and products are all backed up by extensive research spanning over 56 projects looking at all aspects equestrian; more recently the Fairfax range including their revolutionary Performance girth (Team GB's secret weapon in the 2012 Olympics).

Alongside Russell will be Jo Winfield FBHS who gained her Fellowship of the BHS in 2007, and specialises in helping riders and their horses at all levels to perform to their full potential. Jo is a British Eventing Coach, British Dressage Judge and an Assessor for the British Horse Society.

This day will count as CPD for BHS Accredited Professional Coaches but is of interest and open to all.
