Two competition winners with blue rosettes and horseWe are delighted to return to Moreton Morrell College (Warwickshire) on Wednesday 4 April 2018 for the BHS National Riding Schools Championships 2018. 

The competition is open to BHS Approved Centres and all competitors must be non-horse owners competing on horses and ponies on a Riding School Licence.

Whatever your age or ability come and take part and show us your skills at dressage, jumping and stable management.

There are six classes in total:

Class 1

12 Years and Under

Dressage - BHS Approved Riding Schools Dressage Test 1 (2017)

Showjumping course - Maximum 45cm

Practical stable management quiz

Class 2

13-17 Years Old

Dressage - BHS Approved Riding Schools Dressage Test 1 (2017)

Showjumping course - Maximum 60cm

Practical stable management quiz

Class 3

18 Years and Over

Dressage - BHS Approved Riding Schools Dressage Test 1 (2017)

Showjumping course - Maximum 70cm

Practical stable management quiz

Class 4

17 Years and Under

Dressage only - BHS Approved Riding Schools Dressage Test 2 (2017)

Class 5

18 Years and Over

Dressage only - BHS Approved Riding Schools Dressage Test 2 (2017)

How to enter

To enter, simply speak to your BHS Approved Centre, if they are hosting a qualifying event you will be able to enter directly through them. If you ride at a BHS Approved Centre that doesn’t host a qualifying event, speak to your BHS Approved Centre to see if it’s possible to arrange horse hire and transport for you.

General Information

In classes 1, 2 and 3 there are three phases with a collective overall score deciding the winners. The first phase is the dressage test, usually followed by the stable management section (this can be taken before the dressage test if preferred) and the last phase is the showjumping section. Classes 4 and 5 are dressage only.

Prizes for all Classes

There will be rosettes to 10th place and a sash to the winner in all classes. Commemorative rosettes will be issued to all competitors and there will be spot prizes throughout the day.
