It should be noted that whilst the respective governments are producing regular updates, these then require careful consideration and interpretation, to make the guidance relevant to our individual sector. The following updates are BRC’s current interpretation of the most recent government guidance and are subject to change, as and when government advice is updated.

These championships will be taking place 22-23 May 2021 at Washbrook Farm, Aston-le-Walls, Northamptonshire. “As long-time supporters of British Riding Clubs we are thrilled to add the new Combined Training Championships to the string of NAF BRC sponsored events. 2020 has been an incredibly difficult year for everyone and we appreciate just how much members will share in our excitement that qualifiers are now able to take place. We would like to wish you the best of luck and we look forward to seeing you at the Championships.” Eloise Chugg-Martin – NAF Five Star Sponsorship & Events Manager
SportEngland have received confirmation from government that the new “rule of six” in England does not apply to organized sport and leisure activities. Riding clubs can continue with their usual activities providing all Covid protocols are strictly adhered to.
"We have sought clarity on what the latest update means for sport and physical activity, and while social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England from 14 September, the government has confirmed that organised sports and activities that have been through return to play protocols can continue, as can organised outdoor sports and physical activity events.” – sportengland
Riding Clubs are able to continue to operate as usual although social activities e.g. barbecues for more than six people are not permitted.
It is vital that all clubs continue to follow the Covid safety protocols which can be found here - https://www.bhs.org.uk/advice-and-information/coronavirus-covid-19/risk-assessment
We have recently been made aware that an affiliated club has been targeted by what appears to be fraudsters who have managed to hack in to some of the Club officials email accounts. Click see the up to date datasheet on internet and email security for clubs and remain vigilant.
Ask the expert clinics
Due to the success of our virtual sports resumption clinics, BRC have organised a timetable of our new ask the expert clinics.
These clinics will focus on specific topics such as general Q&A, Marketing, BRC Rules, Health & Safety and Safeguarding.
These clinics will offer members and clubs the chance to speak with BRC officials and specialists in these subject areas. You may have some specific questions about how to market your club, new rules you’re unsure of or need further clarification, health and safety guidance for getting your events back up and running with the new covid-19 compliance or a safeguarding query. These will be hour-long sessions which will offer you the chance to raise these queries.
In order to attend these clinics you will need to book onto a session on a day that suits you and have access to a computer and the internet. We have a maximum capacity of 15 attendees per clinic and this will be determined on a first-come-first-served basis. To book, please email Lydia.firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, riding club, official role and the email address you want the invitation to be sent to. You will receive an email response to confirm if your booking is successful. Please see below the dates for the upcoming clinics
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact a member of the team.
