With the announcements over the last few days from the UK and devolved governments, BRC are now able to issue the following update (click update for full document) with regards to BRC activities.

It should be noted that whilst the respective governments are producing regular updates, these then require careful consideration and interpretation, to make the guidance relevant to our individual sector. The following updates are BRC’s current interpretation of the most recent government guidance and are subject to change, as and when government advice is updated.

In these highly unusual times, we would like to ensure all of our members and clubs that we are working hard to ensure that our service to you is not compromised.

Aa a result of government guidance, all BRC staff are now working from home for the foreseeable future. We are fortunate in that the BHS has some robust systems which allow us to continue to operate with limited interruption to service. We are able to answer telephone calls and emails as normal, so please do contact us for any queries you may have.

Due to these new working arrangements, we have limited access to our incoming post. If you need to send us any hard-copy items, it would be helpful if these could be scanned or photographed and emailed to We can then continue to assist you during these difficult times.

Finally, we would like to thank you for your continued support. Stay safe and well.

Change of Venue Statement

The BRC Dressage to Music Championships is relocating from Addington Equestrian to Bury Farm Equestrian Village. Dates remain the same.

BRC have been working with Addington Equestrian to ensure a successful and safe championship for members, including a recent site visit to finalise plans just two weeks ago. Unfortunately, we were informed yesterday evening (Monday 14 September) that Addington are no longer able to host the event.

We have however managed to secure another venue to host the event and we are incredibly grateful to Bury Farm Equestrian Village for stepping in at the last minute to ensure this event can go ahead. The date and timetabling remain the same we are determined to ensure the event is an enjoyable one for competitors.

Stabling will be available on site and details of how to book will be made available as soon as they are finalised.

Update 10/09/20

SportEngland have received confirmation from government that the new “rule of six” in England does not apply to organized sport and leisure activities. Riding clubs can continue with their usual activities providing all Covid protocols are strictly adhered to.
"We have sought clarity on what the latest update means for sport and physical activity, and while social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England from 14 September, the government has confirmed that organised sports and activities that have been through return to play protocols can continue, as can organised outdoor sports and physical activity events.” – sportengland
Riding Clubs are able to continue to operate as usual although social activities e.g. barbecues for more than six people are not permitted.
It is vital that all clubs continue to follow the Covid safety protocols which can be found here -
