The High Wycombe Riding Club was formed in 1989 to cater for all levels of riding ability, from novice up to competent competitive riders. We offer training opportunities for all levels of horse and rider with reputable instructors and coaches. We hold an annual Camp, which covers flat work, show jumping and cross country. Social events include Vet talks on various subjects, talks from interesting experts, cheese & wine evenings and Summer BBQ’s. Show Jumping Shows, Arena Eventing and Horse Trials also feature in our calendar and showing shows when the interest is there. We always try and organise events that our Members request.
We enter Teams in almost all Qualifiers offered by BRC, and also enter Teams in the Blenheim and Hickstead events. We are proud to say we have had much success over the years and have qualified through to the Championships and won and been placed there too.
We have a Membership of around 80 and offer both a Junior Membership (from 5 years old) and a Senior Membership from 18 years. We warmly welcome riders and non-riders and use local venues that offer X-C facilities, indoor and outdoor arenas and local halls for indoor events. Members receive regular emailed Newsletters from us to keep them informed, as well as Facebook messages. We are grateful to have a lovely Committee who go to great lengths to keep our fixtures fresh and enjoyable. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and happy Club. During the pandemic we learned how to hold Zoom meetings and even held our AGM by Zoom, with a good number of Members joining in. One Member responded to a non-member’s query on what sort of Club we were by saying “it’s like an extended family”. We couldn’t ask for a nicer or more honest comment.
