Our Volunteers

Our volunteers are crucial to the operation of the BHS and work hard to improve life for horses and horse lovers in their area and across the UK.

Our volunteers are part of an essential team that helps to deliver our charitable objectives and our work simply wouldn’t be possible without them.

The BHS supports more than 1000 volunteers to take positive local action and to champion our work across our core foundations of Welfare, Safety, Access and Education.

Our BHS volunteers

  • attend over a thousand new welfare concerns each year
  • campaign for the increased safety of riders and horses on our roads
  • campaign for access to safe places to ride or carriage drive
  • organise local events, shows and fundraise for the benefit of horses and riders in their local area.

If you have any questions about volunteering, get in touch with us at  volunteer@bhs.org.uk or call 02476 840479*.
